Tropical Depression One continues to track East-Northeast at 15 mph through the Atlantic about 500 miles Northeast of Virginia Beach, or about 260 miles Southeast of Nantucket, Massachusetts.

Maximum sustained winds are still at 35 mph, which is not quite to Tropical Storm strength. If TD One could have reached 39 mph sustained winds, it would have been dubbed the first named storm of the 2009 Atlantic Hurricane Season, Tropical Storm Ana. It is close, but probably not going to happen today as the storm moves into the colder waters of the North Atlantic.
